#59 Speaking Part 2 : Describe a time when you received good news

Well I suppose there were many happy times when I received very surprising and exciting news. Here, I would like to share my experience when I got accepted into my dream university, which is Institut Teknologi Bandung.

So, in 2012 after I graduated from high school, I really wanted to continue my study to this university because Institut Teknologi Bandung is one of famous universities in Indonesia. So at that time, after my graduation, I decided rightly to apply this university. So, I clearly remember that after six months waiting for the announcement, I got news that I've been chosen to be one of their students.

It was very hilarious. At that time, my brother was the first person who knew about this good news. Because at that time, I was in the local airport, waiting for my plane. Because I wanted to go to Jakarta to prepare for my national exam.So, when I got that news, I was very surprised and I remember that I cried all over the waiting room and everyone looked at me. Because they though that  I was, perhaps, having some accidents.

 

1. "I really wanted to continue my study to this university because..." Seharusnya preposisi yang tepat adalah "I really wanted to continue my study at this university"
   
2.  "Institut Teknologi Bandung is one of famous universities in Indonesia". Seharusnya diikuti artikel indefinitif "the" seharusnya menjadi "Institut Teknologi Bandung is one of the famous universities in Indonesia" atau cara penulisan lainnya adalah "one of many famous universities"
   
3. "I decided rightly to apply this university." Ingat kolokasi preposisi yang cocok untuk kata kerja. apply adalah PREP. to These restrictions do not apply to us.
4. "after six months waiting for"  seharusnya ada preposisi 'of' menjadi "after six months of waiting for"
5. "I got news that" kekurangan artikel indefinitif menjadi "I got the news"
   
6. "I've been chosen to be one of their students." Hmmm sepertinya konteks passive voice nya kurang tepat dan juga penggunaan present continues nya bukan dalam time frame yang benar
