#66 Speaking Part 2 : Describe a volunteering experience you have had

So, I am going to share my experience when I was a volunteer in a community. So it is teaching activity, it was since 2016 after I graduated from my university. I decided to join  a teaching community that held by the mosque of Salman Bandung.

At that time, my job description was to teach children about Quran. It is our holy book as a muslim. So, at that time, I must teach these children for around thirty minutes every day. And I could say that, during my class, I had for about ten childs as my student. And I think, it was a very life-changing experience for me.

Because at the first place, I just wanted to improve my CV because at that time, I really wanted to apply for a scholarship program. And there was a friend of mine told me that it was better to have some volunteering experience in my CV if I want to impress the jury at that time. And then, turns out, this was a very fabulous experience for me because I could feel that my role in this community was very crucial and also, I think it was quite relieving for me to teach these children how to read Quran.

My Self Correction :

1. "It is teaching activity" . Kalimat ini kurang artikel indefinitif yang seharusnya menjadi "It is a teaching activity"
2. "I had about ten childs." Seharusnya menjadi "ten children" karena bentuk plural dari child adalah children. Ini adalah salah satu contoh kata benda yang mempunyai irregular form of plural yaa.
3. "some volunteering experience in my CV." Preposisi yang lazimnya untuk kata benda CV adalah preposisi 'on', bukan in yaa. Contoh : This type of project management is a great thing to have on your CV.
4. "if I want to impress the jury at that time" WKWKWK salah pilih kata benda. Kalau melihat di kamus : jury [noun] a group of people who have been chosen to listen to all the facts in a trial in a law court and to decide if a person is guilty or not guilty, or if a claim has been proved. Yang tepat nya adalah judge [noun [C]] :  a person who has the knowledge to give an opinion about something or is able to decide if someone or something is good or bad:
5. "turns out" strukturnya tidak memenuhi SPOK. Seharusnya yang baik dan benar adalah S-V-P-O-K. Sehingga it turned out. (verba harus past simple tense karena konteks masa lalu)
