#07 Speaking Part 2 : Describe a time when you told your friend an important truth

And explain why it was important for you to tell the truth to your friend

Well, I am going to talk about a moment when I had to tell my best friend about some bad news. So, actually it happened in 2018. At that time, one my best friend, who was Septi, she really wanted to pursue her master degree by studying abroad especially at the university of Tokyo.

So, I could say that she wanted to be the scholar of one the prestigious scholarship programs in Indonesia which is LPDP Scholarship. I could say that, she had done a plethora of efforts in order to obtain this scholarship. To kick off, she already took an IELTS test and she got a remarkable score. And also she already wrote some essays to apply this scholarships. And sometime, she asked me to give my feedbacks about her essays.

Well, long story short, on the day of the announcement, she was afraid to open the announcement through her account so she asked me to open it. And when I opened it , well she failed to gain this scholarship. At the beginning, I was afraid to tell her the truth because I was afraid that she was going to be disappointed. But, I guess it was better for me to tell her the truth right away. 

My self-correction :

1. Effort merupakan kata benda yang bisa Countable atau uncountable
2. Feedback adalah kata benda uncountable sehingga seharusnya tidak diikuti ekstra huruf s.
   
3. "she had done a plethora of efforts". Collocation yang lebih tepat adalah dengan menggunakan kata kerja make sehingg seharusnya menjadi "she had made"
   
4. "one the prestigious scholarship programs" Ini kurang "of" wkwk kok bisa kelupaan ya.
   
5. "apply this scholarships" seharusnya ada preposisi "for" untuk kata kerja apply, sebelum langsung ke kata bendanya.
   
6. "And sometime," harus ada ekstra huruf s ya ini. WKWK BTW Baru tau ada dua jenis adverb ini di kamus Cambridge. Jadi yang pertama : 

• sometime [adverb] tanpa huruf s diujungnya menyatakan at a time in the future or the past that is not known or not stated: sometime before June 
• sometimes [adverb] : on some occasions but not always or often:  Sometimes it's best not to say anything.
  

1. "At the beginning" INGEET WKWK AT itu kalo udah spesifik waktu ada jam nya atau spesifik lokasi sebuah tempat. Jadi karena ini konteks waktu nya general, gunakan preposisi "in", sama seperti kesalahan "in the end"
