Lost in translation (again) in London

Him : So do you have any dates for Ramadhan?

Her : Date? Wait, you mean dates as a fruit, or date with a man? 

Him : Hahaha, well you could answer both context. It is harmless

Her : I would say, Date as fruit? I dont have any in my kitchen, since I am not very into dates. I mean yeah I eat dates unless I get them free. But if I must buy it for myself? I wont have it.

Her : ..... (Then intentionally give a long pause of answering)

Him : Then? The latter context?

Her : Oh hahaha. Date with man? No I dont have. Why do you think I wait for us to meet this long?

Him : Oh really? Haha nice to know.

Several time I could say that I got lost in translation. This language barrier sometimes are too funny :))
