Well, I am going to talk about my past experience when I had to perform in the public and I've chosen to talk my experience when I joined a poem competition in my high school. I guess it was in 2012. At that time, my school decided to hold a poem competition in order to celebrating our national independence.

At that time, my teacher asked me to represent my class to perform in this poem competition. So after that, I decided to practice my poem reading in front of the mirror, and also I did my regular practice with my mother. So, in the day of the competition, I guess I had butterflies in my stomach because it was my first time to perform a poem reading in front of the public. And also, I guess I missed my lines because I was very nervous at that time.

And the funny thing was I cried after I did my performance. I dont know why I cried at that time because I think I felt quite relieved after crying. However , at the end of the competition, the judges announced that I was the third winner of this poem competition!

My self correction:

1. 'perform in the public'. Seharusnya tidak ada artikel indefinitif 'the'. Jadi seharusnya "perform in public"
2. "talk my experience". Ada preposisi yang hilang yakni "talk about my experience".
3. "So, in the day of the competition". Preposisi untuk hari adalah on the ~ (of) On the day of his wedding he was very nervous. Jadi seharusnya "So, on the day of the competition"

Yeay, ga terlalu banyak koreksi untuk grammar !
