The Singapore Laksa meal combined with the Pandan Soft Cake

It took place in my Sydney hostel, around 05:40 AM AEST in the early morning. Waking up, I saw the other bunk beds next to me were already empty. Well, I guess those American boys already left first to catch their flight back to Utah. Taking the cold water to perform my wudhu, then I continued to do my Subuh prayer beside my bunk bed.Whispering some surah and doa's to ask forgiveness for my father, then continuing my personal pray.  Then, I dunno why that I cared so much about my return flight for today. I prayed :

"Ya Allah. I ask for your blessing related to my flight today. Firstly, I pray for the possibility where the crew will offer me a free checked-in baggage since the flight is fully booked. Secondly, I pray that my flight from Sydney wont get delayed so that I can catch my connecting flight in only 1.5 hours of transitting time. If two things cannot happen, it is okay. At least one of them happen."

I knew that it might sound stupid but, at least, I learned my lesson : never book a flight with only <2 hours transitting time. Like for god shake, it really makes me nervous to think of running from corridors to corridors, terminals to terminals just to catch my next flight.

And just arriving in the airport, after taking that 24-minutes-yet-22AUD-fare airport train, I got an email. The email from Scoot, saying an apology that my flight from Sydney will be re-timed from 12:50 to 14:00. That's it. There is no fucking way I can make it to my next flight. It means I only have 5 minutes for transit time from originally 1hours 15 minutes. I was kinda upset. So this is how God works? But I should not , and will never trade off my faith to Allah just over a stupid delayed flight. Especially, the low cost carrier flight lol. Especially that only costs me around 211 AUD. Nah, my faith aint that cheap for sure, lol. I've faced worse problem than this.

I had no energy to get angry to the staff in the counter check in. She looks to young , probably it was her first day to be check-in staff as well. And she is moslem as well, wearing hijab in this western country. The staff doesnt offer me a free checked in baggage just like I pray. Well, at least I know, none of my two prays in this morning was granted by Allah. But it is okay. They just tell me that Scoot team will make sure I will land in Jakarta, probably offering accomodation, food and of course new flight booking to Jakarta. I also remember that it coincidently happened that my government decided to give an extra day off on 18th August. See? I can always be pretty optimist in seeing everything. One extra lay over in Singapore? One of the most expensive airport to afford a meal? Lol.

And here I go, walking to sydney airport, walking to Gate 53. Not forget to feed myself with three piece of chicken wings from McD that costs me around 7.5 AUD. Then walking slowly to my flight to Changi around 14:00. Once landing in Changi Airport, there was some staffs holding board written "Transit to Jakarta, Transit to Ho Chi Min, etc, please report here". I reached one old chinese man instead the female crews. I bet he is the true and typical singaporean uncle. And he said : "Here, bring this piece of paper to terminal E counter. The staff in there will help you to get a new boarding pass. Your new flight to Jakarta will be at 22:15 PM".

I was like, wow. It was nice, knowing the fact that I do not need to have a layover in one of the most expensive airport that I even cannot afford for a McD meal lol (thanks to be born and work in Indonesia, one of the less developed country where the currency aint competitive). And another good thing, I can arrive in Jakarta and spend my extra day off all day long on Monday.

Walking my way to the terminal E, it was a quite far walk. Meeting another moslem lady who wear hijab, and then giving the small paper. She asked whether I had a baggage in the previous flight, then I said no, only this blue cabin luggage. Turning out, I made their life easier since it means that they do not to proceed any luggage from the Sydney plane. And after I received a new boarding pass, I was surpised : it was boarding pass for a flight to Jakarta using Singapore Airlines.

I was like, oh so this is how Allah makes plans for me. It was a better plan than the one I wish for. Singapore airlines aint LCC, for sure it offers 30-kg checked baggage for its passengers. And secondly, I will arrive on time in Jakarta with a well-feeded tummy (yes ! ofc I will get one free meal eventho flight to Jakarta only lasts around 1hours lol).

This moment makes me realize again and again. I should always ask for Allah's help. I mean hey, Allah never charge me to ask anything in this world.  And Allah always has many ways to show how our prayers becomes true. Turned out, my two wishes , all of them are fully granted by one magical way : a new boarding pass with Singapore Airlines.

And oh yes, the Singapore Laksa meal combined with the Pandan Soft Cake as the dessert, is the most delicious meal in flight that I could never forget and for sure, it will always remind me how lucky and grateful I am to be a moslem that could ask everything in this world to Allah.
